Diverticulosis is a condition in which the inner lining layer of the large intestine or colon bulges out through the outer, muscular layer. These 'outpouchings' are called diverticula.
It is very important to remember that gastro-intestinal problems differ from person to person and that it has to be treated individually. Certain foods may cause pain and discomfort for you, but may not for another person. Avoid foods that cause discomfort, but make sure that you still maintain a balanced diet and take enough fibre.

Constipation must be treated and avoided by following the correct diet guidelines. It is important to avoid pressure building the colon, therefore normal soft and regular stools are essential. When you are constipated pressure builds in the colon and cause damage.
